It Starts with Locally Available Feed Stock
With 350 Million waste tires generated annually in the USA alone, Next Energy Fuels aims to build next-generation pyrolysis facilities near areas with high concentrations of waste tires. Ideal partners for this project include entities that have both waste-tire materials and a need for renewable fuels. Targeted customers range from municipal solid waste companies and major airlines to large-scale fleet operators like Coca-Cola, FedEx, cement companies, and over-the-road hauling entities.
By producing renewable fuels, such as sustainable aviation fuel and ultra low sulfur diesel, Next Energy Fuels will be participating in various Federal and State incentive programs. These include the low carbon fuel standard and the 45Z tax credit. This approach not only addresses the waste tire issue but also helps extend our nation’s landfills through diversion of waste streams – all while reducing our dependency on fossil fuels.
Next Energy Fuels Technology
Next Energy Fuels technology means taking an innovative and sustainable approach to waste management. We do this by using a next-generation pyrolysis to create environmentally conscious fuels. Utilizing feed stocks like end-of-life tires, woody waste or Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF), we reduce environmental impact, while increasing opportunities for the generation of electricity. Next Energy Fuels also recovers bitumen, steel, and carbon black as secondary products.
By decomposing organic compounds in the absence of oxygen – and with the application of patented chemistry, this method effectively converts feed stocks into sustainable aviation fuel and ultra low sulfur diesel, to name just a few.
Furthermore, the company’s ability to capture syngas and convert it into renewable ‘grid neutral’ electricity offers another source of clean energy. This energy can either be reintroduced into the process or sold. The production of additional byproducts such as bitumen, carbon black and steel further demonstrates the company’s commitment to ensuring a zero-waste operation with minimal air emissions.
Overall, Next Energy Fuels is making extraordinary strides in transforming waste streams into valuable, needed fuels while promoting environmental responsibility and sustainability.
